Warm Spiced Mulled Wine
Ingredients
- 1 bottle (750 ml) Molly Morgan Shiraz
- ¼ cup honey
- 1 orange, zested and juiced
- 6 whole cloves
- 4 green cardamom pods
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 whole star anise
- ¼ cup brandy
- Orange slices, for garnish
To serve:
- Cinnamon sticks, for garnish
Method
- In a large pot, combine the wine, apple cider, honey, orange zest, and juice. Stir gently to mix.
- Add the cloves, cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks, and star anise.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium-high heat. Once simmering, reduce the heat to low and let it continue to simmer for 30 minutes. Be careful not to let it boil.
- Stir in the brandy just before serving.
- Ladle into mugs and garnish with orange slices and cinnamon sticks as desired.
